SUMMARY:Webinar: How to implement reuse systems for food packaging in takeaway and home delivery
DESCRIPTION:[vc_row type=”full-nopad”][vc_column width=”2/3″][vc_column_text css=””] \nThis webinar brings together municipal\, business\, and analytical perspectives on how reuse systems can be introduced and scaled in takeaway and home delivery settings. \nTakeaway and home delivery are among the most challenging contexts for introducing reuse systems\, due to fragmented business models\, tight margins\, and strong convenience expectations from consumers.  \nThe core of the webinar is a moderated panel discussion with selected partners from the Change(K)now project. The discussion focuses on lessons learned\, concrete dos and don’ts\, business engagement\, consumer behaviour\, and system design\, highlighting what it takes to make reuse work in everyday takeaway contexts.  \n\nOur panel \n\nCopenhagen will present their work on integrating reuse systems for takeaway into the city’s broader waste and regulatory framework. The contribution will address how legislation and municipal policies shape system design\, how food businesses are recruited and supported\, and how communication and nudging influence consumer choices. The example demonstrates how governance\, infrastructure alignment\, and market engagement can be combined in a large metropolitan context.\nHamburg will present experience from testing different reuse approaches in takeaway contexts\, including reusable bowls and analogue deposit systems in weekly food markets. The contribution compares business responses\, customer uptake\, and operational challenges\, highlighting the importance of standardisation and system-based solutions. Product redesign\, staff training\, and life-cycle assessments will be discussed as part of improving adoption and long-term feasibility.\nPOMINO will provide an overview of key findings across all five takeaway pilots\, highlighting common barriers\, successful approaches\, and differences between local markets and cities wide systems. \nAnykščiai will describe how a municipal requirement for reusable takeaway packaging was implemented in cooperation with 16 local cafés. Infrastructure support\, structured agreements\, and communication campaigns helped operationalise a deposit-based system. The presentation will address behavioural responses\, practical barriers\, and how regulation and dialogue were balanced in a smaller municipality.\n\n\n\nQ&A and interaction \nThere will be time for questions and discussion with the panel\, allowing participants to clarify uncertainties and reflect on how the experiences shared relate to their own takeaway or home delivery context.  \nParticipants will also have the opportunity to request 1:1 consultation with the pilot experts after the webinar.  \n  \nSubmit your question – feedback from our panel  \nDo you face a concrete barrier or challenge when working with reuse systems for food packaging in takeaway or home delivery?  \nParticipants are invited to submit a specific question\, barrier\, or short case description in advance. During the webinar\, selected questions will be addressed by our panel\, who will provide practical feedback and recommendations based on their experience.  \nTo submit a question or case\, please contact project manager Nicole Nordart (nino@gate21.dk) ahead of the webinar. [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_single_image image=”144172″ img_size=”full”][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″ el_class=”event-column”][vc_column_text css=””] \nPractical information \nDate and time: Thursday the 28th of May at 9-10 CET  \nParticipation: The webinar is free to attend  \nLanguage: The webinar will be hosted in English only  \nPlatform: Microsoft Teams [/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator][vc_empty_space][vc_column_text css=””] \nKontakt\nNicole Nordart\nnino@gate21.dk[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][vc_separator][vc_empty_space][vc_btn title=”Sign up” style=”gradient-custom” gradient_custom_color_1=”#ffd90c” gradient_custom_color_2=”#ffd90c” gradient_text_color=”#000000″ shape=”square” align=”center” css=”” button_block=”true” link=”url:https%3A%2F%2Fpodio.com%2Fwebforms%2F20758811%2F1426385%3Ffields%5Bevent%5D%3D3250385640″][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row]
